Tater Tot Hookie

This was such an excellent side dish tonight with my Pumpkin Chicken Wings. First time making Tater Tots in about 20 years. Thought I would jazz them up a bit. I bought a bag of tots from Aldi and although I was a bit disappointed that they weren't onion flavored, I just so happened to have a nice red onion. I used a #9 Cast Iron Skillet for this recipe. I only used 1/2 of the 32 Oz. Bag of Tots. Make sure you cook the tots completely first before putting the sour cream in the oven or the sour cream will break up. Just follow the easy steps.

INGREDIENTS:

16 oz. of Tater Tots

Sour cream

16 oz. Cheddar Cheese, grated

Red Onion, sliced and halved

6 Slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled

3 Green Onions, chopped

Frank's Hot Sauce

RECIPE:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lay out the Tater Tots in a ungreased skillet. Toss in the red onions. Cook for 15 minutes and then remove from oven and turn the tots. Put back in the oven for 5 minutes.

Remove skillet and brush lightly with Frank's Hot Sauce. Add half the cheese and put in the oven for 5 minutes.

Remove skillet from oven and coat entire top with sour cream. Scatter the rest of the cheese on top of the sour cream. Now scatter the bacon on top. Add the green onions.

Back in the oven for 15 minutes and done!! Enjoy!!

Served them with Pumpkin Chicken Wings.
